EDUCATION
1st Annual African American History Knowledge Bowl - Dalworth
Thursday, Feb. 25, 6-9 p.m.
Ages 8-11. In celebration of African American History Month, Dalworth Recreation Center would like to test your knowledge of African American History. Students will compete for a chance to win prizes. This event is open to student’s grades 3-5. Space is limited and registration accepted on a first come first serve basis. Refreshments will be served.

After School Program - Dalworth
Ages 5-12. WE WILL PICK UP – Limited seating, first come first serve. This weekly program provides your child with homework time, a snack and organized recreational play. We offer games, crafts, movies, computers, field trips and more! Payment is due weekly, the Friday prior to each Monday. Fee. $10/child/week and Center Membership is required. If pick up is required, there is an additional $10 fee/child/wk.

Dalworth Community Spelling Bee- Sponsored by Livestone Masonic Lodge #152
3rd – 5th grades. Compete with community youth in this annual African-American Heritage Spelling Bee. Cash Prizes are awarded.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – 2men2dream4peace Celebration
Monday, Jan. 11 - 10 a.m.
Join the City of Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Department, Grand Prairie Independent School District, and Grand Prairie NAACP for the 2men2dream4peace Celebration. Festivities will begins with a peace march, which begins at 10 a.m. at City Hall Plaza, followed by a program at David Daniels Elementary Academy and concluding the evening with a banquet/gala at Ruthe Jackson Center . J.A.D.N. - Dalworth
Come be a part of Julia’s Artistic Dance Network, where your instructors believe in serving the community by bringing the arts back with dance. “You will only grow as far as you know”. $30/mo
Ballet
Classes will emphasize the development of classical ballet skills with a focus on proper placement and alignment. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through the bare and center work while building strength and flexibility.

Lil Tots: Let’s Get Active! - Dalworth
Ages: 3-5. This four-week class is designed to help children grow socially and physically. Games, activities, and fun will be the focus for the children. Fee: $25/4 weeks.

Pre-K Flag Football League - at Freedom Park
Saturday, Mar. 13, 10 a.m. -12 noon
Ages 4-6. Down, Set, Hut! This league will focus on the basic aspects of youth football such as offense, defense, and teamwork. This league is held on a condensed field at Freedom Park (next to Truman MS) with a seven on seven style of play. Scores and standings will not be kept but there will be plenty of end zone celebrations. Fee: $50/child/6 games. Includes jersey and trophy.

Tiny Tots Basketball Camp - Dalworth
Ages 3-5. Looking for an opportunity to entertain your child with the game of basketball? Our Tiny Tot Basketball Camp will introduce your child to the basics of basketball through drills, coaching and instructional game play. In this class, every kid is a winner and will receive a certificate upon completion! Fee: $20/4 weeks.

FITNESS
Saturday Morning Pick Up Games - Dalworth
Every Saturday, 11:30-1 p.m..
Ages 13-18. It is show time on Saturday morning at the Dalworth Recreation Center. Come play with some of the best competition in the city. Bring your A-game and come for some fun. Fee: Membership required and $2 person

FUN
Valentine Teen Dance - Dalworth
Friday, Feb 12, 7-11p.m.
Ages 13-17. It’s cool outside but it’s hot inside on the dance floor. Come celebrate the Winter break in style with us here at the Dalworth Recreation Center. Live DJ, games, and concession stand will be available. Fee: $2
