About the Center

The Bowles Life Center is Grand Prairie’s newest facility and its purpose stretches beyond recreation. In addition to the full size gym, game room and fitness equipment it has a police store front, branch library, public computer lab, and two meeting rooms. This facility truly is a center aimed at improving the quality of our citizens’ lives.

Blaze Sports
BlazeSports offers enables children and adults with physical disabilities to realize their potential through sport and healthy lifestyles. BlazeSports brings disability sports programs to communities across the United States through community-based parks and recreation agencies.

Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Department officially became a BLAZESPORTS Club in July of 2007!!! Grand Prairie is currently programming Swimming, golf, sitting volleyball, and wheelchair sports for athletes with physical disabilities. For more information on participating in Blaze Sports, volunteering, or coaching, please contact Mariana Espinoza at the Bowles Life Center, 972-237-7529.

Diez y Seis • 6 pm - 9 pm • Bowles Life Center • 2750 Graham
The community is invited to the 3rd Annual Diez y Seis celebration at Bowles. The event features live entertainment, games, snacks and a grito contest. Hosted by Bowles Life Center and the city’s Neighborhood Revitalization Division, the event is FREE. 972-237-7529 for more info.

Register for Summer Camp NOW!!!
Camp is for ages 6-12 and 12-15. Camp runs Monday thru Friday, from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. beginning June 2, 2008. There is a $10 registration fee to enroll in camp and hold spaces for the weeks desired. Camp costs $80/week for the first child & $75/week for each additional child. Campers will participate in organized and structured play in the game room and gymnasium, outdoor adventure and fitness programs, swimming, and weekly fieldtrips.
